Profiling data starts with an existing customer database which can be B2B or B2C. The data is then matched against either the entire UK business universe of 2.7m businesses or 44m adults in the UK.

With Business data, once two records are matched, the match will give information about the business type, (SIC Code), size, location plus other useful information. A data count is then run based upon the characteristics of the matches. This gives more companies which match the profile of customers who currently buy products or services from you. It sometime throws up some interesting business sectors that are not the first thought for new customers, but they are buying something - What could be better!

Residential or Consumer

Existing customer data is taken and matched against the 44M held on a number of lifestyle data. The records are then appended with lifestyle and other information (up to 80 attributes). Where the match rate is very low other techniques are used to gather other attributes which can be further processed. The information is then further processed and a report constructed showing the type of consumer that makes up the existing customer base. Data-counts based upon the profile can then be run with a number of list owners based on the profile and de-duping out the existing customer base.
